Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
I have lived and own my condo for ten years. Notified management of getting married ten years ago. No action was requested. Now ten years later, new management on property and demanded a criminal back round check or be fined. Submitted back round check so I would not have a lien put against condo. Now they say I cannot live here after ten years!! And are now using the back round check against me. In ten years have NEVER!!! received or have been asked to do anything!! I own my unit and do not feel after all these years they can do this??

First of all this was not a requirement 10 years ago and should not have been given to them. Secondly, you may need to take them to court as I don't believe this is an issue since this is your condo and you were not notified of any changes in the HOA agreement. I suggest you find an attorney ASAP that does HOA litigation. You can prevail on this and perhaps have them reimburse or pay your attorney fees.
They cannot force you to now leave your own condo based on their having run a new background check. You need an attorney.
