Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
We have lived in our condo for almost 20 years. No pets are allowed. My mother recently had a stroke and must learn to speak again. She had a therapy dog visit her in rehab and had excellent results because she was so happy when the dog came to visit. I would like to get a small dog for her. I know that there are a few dogs in the building and many cats that the board is aware of, but turn their eye other way. I want everything to be on the up and up and not have to hide my pet. If other people have animals, can they deny my request? If they do, what recourse do I have if any? Wouldn't that be considered discriminatory?
