Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

I have lived in my current apartment for 8 years. I have two large dogs which I have owned for the past 5 years. I paid the required pet deposit and the apartment manager had to verbally give the okay for me to have them to the animal shelter from which I adopted them. Now, the management company is considering not renewing the leases of anyone who has a dog over 35 lbs. My lease expires 7/31/15. How much notice does the apartment complex have to give the tenants regarding a nonrenewal of lease? If I was not renewing my lease I would have to give them a 60 day notice. What if they do not give the tenant the required notice (if there is one)?

Unless your lease states otherwise, there is no set time.

Read your lease and see if there is a time stated. Otherwise, there is no law that states that they have a set time limit to give notification. since you are getting it now, you should not have a problem in locating a new place. Don't be surprised when you leave that you may be billed for damages.
