if you have lived in same townhouse in fl since 1999 and refinanced in 6 with a private lender and last year lost job so worked out with lender to quick claim property back to them and making rental payments now . question is this the hoa wanted a rental application did that and they asking for a 500 security deposit that my landlord is not asking for can they ask for a security they say for damage but the damage must be exterior because the interior is thru my landlord they say its new for move in but im not moving in I have never left . I lived there since 99 can they do that when the landlord also thinks its ridiculous

If HOA rules require the $500 security you may not have a choice. The change of ownership alone may trigger the responsibility.
