Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Mold

My husband has asthma and allergies to mold - it's his #1 trigger, after t.s. fay hit our house with minimal water damage our landlord doesn't believe the damage is so bad to relieve us from our 2 yr lease. The back wall of our house is soaked with moisture so much so that the wall plates have condensation on them and the odor is musty smelling. Can we be released from our lease?

If the landlord refuses to acknowledge that the condition is unsafe, you may have to litigate. However, if you win, you should get your fees paid.

Read your lease to determine the penalty for breaking the lease. If you break the lease for a valid reason then you should be able to avoid the penalty. You should contact a landlord/tenant attorney in your area.
