Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
I moved out of my month-to-month rented room two weeks ago. I have texted my landlord about getting my security deposit back and he has either not responded or responded that he doesn't have the money to pay me back right now. I have images/confirmation of the security deposit and rent checks I gave him being cashed as well as text/email conversations saved. Can I file and win in small claims court?

Do you have a lease agreement? That document would control. If no agreement he has 30 days to assert his liens, if any. If he does not do that you can sue for the return of the security. The quality of your proof and whether it will mean you can win is impossible to answer without seeing all the documents.
Unless you complied with FS 83.57 you may have a problem.
