receiving rental deposit

I live in FL, here is my situation: nearly 5 years ago, i rented from an individual (not through a company), and I gave him a deposit. When I moved out, the last thing on my mind was getting my deposit back, as the years went on... it's obviously slipped through the cracks, so here's my question, am i still eligable to get my deposit back after nearly 5 years?

There is a 5 year statute of limitations for the breach of a written contract, so you better hurry.
