Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
I recently sub leased a room to a girl with a pet rabbit. I told her that I was allergic and that the rabbit should remain in her room at all times. She said she had no problems with this and because she seemed like it was no big deal and so cooperative and understanding I did not think to make this specification on the lease. However on the lease it does say that she is allowed one rabbit as a pet. Well unfortunately she wasn't as nice and considerate of a person as I thought she was. On several occasions I have found the rabbit out in the livingroom (NOT her room). More unfortunately my allergies to this animal are much worst than I had anticipated. I can bearly breath I'm frequently sneezing, my nose is stuffed up, my throat is dry and what's worst is that I have asthma associated with my allergies, so I'm also wheezing and caughing more often then not. Now I am on all sorts/a tun of medication but it's still not helping. Additionally, I have pleaded with her if we could please compromise and keep the rabbit out in the garage, where there is no AC ventilation and I'm not breathing in all that fur and hay dust. I got her to actually agree, but now she doesn't want to do it anymore and wants to backout on our agreement which unfortunately was only a verbal agreement. Is there anything I can do, like mainly having her find the bunny a new home for the time she lives with me? If not what are my options? Considering this is clearly a health issue and we had a verbal agreement?

If you had her sign a lease. Then look at what she signed. If it does not state she can have pets, then tell get rid of the pet or leave.
