Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

I was recently served a writ for an eviction notice. I'm not entirely sure where to go from here. Being a stay at home mother and working from home with transportation only available on weekends, even through family and friends, I was never able to get to the courthouse to defend myself to continue residing in the apartment home. I have the finances available to pay the debt today but where do I go from here? Do I still have to move after paying this?

You should have hired an attorney when you got notice. Eviction means you did not pay rental OR the rental ended and was terminated. You say Writ for an Eviction. This makes no legal sense. It is either a complaint for eviction or a writ of possession. The writ means you must vacate. Either work it out with the landlord or use the funds you have to get another place.

If you do not appear in court you will probably lose by default.
