Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

I rent an apartment in a condo where there is a malfunctioned light outside that covers a portion of the parking lot and without the light it is very dark, I have asked repeatedly for them to repair the light however light remains broken so my question, is the condo association responsible to repair this light and if so what type of action can I take to make them repair the light.

Thank you

Yes, the condo association is responsible to maintain common area safety lighting. Send them a letter (registered mail) explaining that the lack of light creates an unsafe condition, and that failing to fix the light exposes the association to liability in the event that someone is injured due to poor lighting. Send this to both the association and the management company. The possibility of expensive litigation is usually enough to convince condo associations to make safety repairs. Other than this, you, as a renter, generally have no clout with the association, but your landlord, the owner of your unit, can force the association to fix the light.
