Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
Renters/Tenants Question:
If I signed a lease with a roommate, and my roommate has left before the end of the lease, my understanding is that we are both still responsible for the lease until the lease ends? However, if I decide to go month-to-month under the current lease, is my ex-roommate still bound by the lease since month-to-month is under the original lease?

The written lease controls rights and responsibilities. It needs to be reviewed to determine who remains responsible for what. Not sure how you convert a written lease to a month to month, but if the landlord allows that to happen, then it would appear to me that the original lease is essentially withdrawn. That is a guess based on what you said. You need to discuss with an attorney in more detail..
