Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
i am renting a home without a written agreement with the landlord , but when we moved in she said the house was in good shape, we have only been living here sense April 2015 and we keep finding things wrong with the house that she said she fixed everything in, when we first moved in i couldn't use my sink in my kitchen because my plumbing upchucked o us, when we called the plumber they said they had to redo all the pipe work (she fixed that) then we have had 300$ electric bills because there is no isolation under the house and we told her about it but she has yet to do anything about it, then one of our toilets are falling in you can see that it is sinking in the floor and it is soft around the toilet so now we cant use that bathroom, we have also recently realized we have rats coming in our house and living in our walls we can hear them running around and scathing at the walls and everyone knows their not only very dirty creatures they can cause danger in the home by chewing wires and causing fire hazard, half the light sockets and outlets aren't even in the walls i have tried fixing them but the don't stay and i don't feel that it is my responsibility to fix these thing, i have a 6 month old baby and i am pregnant this is not a good home for her nor me or my family to live in at all, yes i knew there was little minor things wrong when we moved in tot eh home but it just keeps getting worse because we keep finding things wrong more serious in the home i haven't mentioned this to my landlady yet because i wanted to know so info on it and if i stopped paying my rent to save the money to get my family out of this hell hole she calls a home could she kick us out of the home knowing we have a child in the house and the house is really a safety hazard PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTIONS QUICK, THANK YOU

she can evict you for non payment of rental no matter what the problems. if you are on a month to month lease it sounds like you should move. there is a method for you to hold back rental in order to fix major repairs, like extermination. you need to follow the statutory language. you really need to consult with an attorney to get it done properly.
