Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
I was renting a room in a house with a couple "friends". I did not sign any kind of lease and moved out mid November with rent being paid in full through the end of the month. Now they are wanting to sue me for not giving them any notice and want me to pay rent for December. Can they do that?

If you have a month to month tenancy (which it sounds like it might be), then you only need to give 15 days notice before terminating the tenancy. If you gave at least 15 days notice (or paid through the end of the month and left 15 days before the end of the month), then you gave sufficient notice, and you do not owe for December. If you gave fewer than 15 days notice, then you would have to pay for an additional month.
