Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
I am renting a single room in a 4 bedroom house. Two other guys rent rooms, and the landlord lives in the last room. Last weekend a tree in the front yard fell over during a storm and landed on my jeep, parked in the driveway, causing some serious cosmetic damage.
I have:
1) Taken pictures of the tree, my jeep, the location, etc...
2) Told the homeowner of the incident thru the landlord. They said they would speak with their homeowners insurance and get back to me. It is now over a week later, and I am still getting the same answer
What are my options?
Is the homeowner liable?
Should I have to pay for any of the cost of repairs?
Should I involve my car insurance company?
What other questions should I be asking?

Contact your insurance company, let them sue the homeowners insurance.
