Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
My room mate and I signed a lease together in the end of July. He has had numerous bounced checks, and we had a credit of $850 in our account to go towards prorating out rent rate for the next months. He however has spent all of the credit and has bounced checks and the credit has been used for his late fees and his rent only. He signed his name off of the lease, but since my parents are the guarantors, I am responsible for paying over $100 more a month because his checks took away our credit. Is it possible to sue him for the credit we had on our account?
