Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

I had a roommate who moved most of her stuff out 6 weeks ago and is in arrears on her rent, and told me by text that since she isn't using water or electric that she doesn't owe me anything...She does not get her mail here anymore, and she left the keys to the lock I put on her door in the room which just has a few things of hers...Do I have to evict her, or can I just keep the stuff she has left out in my garage...Food she had in refrigerator has mold on it, and I threw it away....Joe

You can sue her for contribution for the overdue rent. Take her to small claims court. Give her written notice that you need to find a new roommate and that she has to clean out her room by X date.
