Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
I signed a lease agreement with a apartment complex May 1st, 2010, and my lease agreement isn't up until May 31st, 2011, My husband's job is relocating him to Nevada and we currently reside in Florida. His company will not pay out the remainder of the lease because the apartment complex is 92% occupied, so they are considering this a desirable place to live. The apartment complex said we would be responsible to sublet our apartment or pay out the remainder of lease. Within our lease agreement it says: "you won't be released from this Lease contract for any reason--including but not limited to voluntary or involuntary school withdrawal or transfer, voluntary or involuntary job transfer, marriage separation, divorce, reconciliation, loss of co-residents, loss of employment, bad health, or death." Is there anything that I can do to release me from this lease agreement?

No. Your best bet is to see if you can negotiate a buyout with the landlord. They are required to attempt to re-lease the apartment after you move. Thus, they are not automatically entitled to payment from you for the remainder of the lease term. Offer the a few months rent as a buyout and see what they say.
