Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

I have a small loft on my property that is behind the main house. It needs work but it has a kitchen and a bathroom. Can I legally rent this out as a one bedroom apartment? I am in Jacksonville, FL.

It would depend on the zoning in your area and your homeowners association policy. If you do not live in an HOA then you should contact your zoning dept. If the loft was rented at any time you may be grandfathered in and can do so.
