Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
My son had a lease to rent an apartment that is strictly student housing in Tallahassee . He left FSU & came home before he moved in . Can he be held responsible if he moved back to WPB & is not attending FSU anymore?

If he signed a lease he remains responsible. The fact that his circumstances changed does not impact the lease. Landlord had to mitigate by re-leasing ASAP.

I had the exact thing happen to my son a few years ago. The student leasing contract is ironclad - your son is on the hook. Re-leasing sounds nice, but the fact is that once the semester starts, nobody is looking for housing. Subleasing may be an option under the lease.
