Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
My son has a 6 month lease on his apt. which is up January 12th. He wants to move the end of December. Is he required by law to give a notice. They told him he has to give a 60 day notice. He lives in Florida and he told them 3 weeks ago he will be moving.

He is required to do what his lease says he must do in the event that he wants to terminate early. If his lease is silent, as to early termination, it doesn't matter that he gave 3 weeks notice, unless the landlord is accepting 3 week notice just because the landlord is a nice guy. It sounds like he is stuck paying the lease till January 12, or he will be in breach.
