Start date of Lease

I will be leasing my home out to some old friends of mine however, I want them to sign a lease. Their rent will be due on the 25th of evey month. Does the lease need to be dated for the 25th of June or can I begin the lease on the 1st of July? They are already living in the home.

Re: Start date of Lease

They will be bound by the provisions of the lease as of the effective date you chose. It is up to the parties.
