Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
what is the statute of limitations for a landlord to sue former tenant for damages that go beyond the security deposit. I did not return security deposit, but did not inform them - but neither did they request it. It's been six months.

The statute of limitations for a written contract in the state of Florida is five (5) years. If your lease was in writing then they have that amount of time from when the contract ended to sue you. If the contract was verbal, then the statute of limitations is four (4) years.
