Can I sue for illegal self help eviction occurring in 2011 with damages exceeding$5k and landlord trying to do it again with no lease agreement

Self help is not allowed. It would be an invasion of your possessory interest. Do you have an oral lease? Are you a squatter or trespasser on the property? Your actual status matters. What damages were caused? To property or person? Did you remain in possession after 2011 or are you now just deciding to move forward with the original claim?
