can i sue a roommate who isn't on lease. she owed October rent but didn't pay and just moved out. i have texts and emails agreeing on rent. will this hold up in small claims court?

Yes, you can probably sue and get a judgment. The real issue you may want to know is can you collect the judgment once you get it. If not, then it is good money after bad. You will have to expend costs and wont get those back either unless you can get the former roomate to pay.
