Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
I have a tenant that damaged a window and door so badly that both have to be entirely replaced. A new building code requires that they be replaced with a hurricane resistant window and door. Is the tenant liable for the cost of the upgrade required by the new code, or only the cost of what he destroyed?
