tenant/swimming pool liability

Renting home. Landlord refuses to allow swimming pool. What can I do to eliminate his liability over the pool? Legal contract? Tenant insurance?

Yes, you could get renter's insurance. This assume that the insurance company would cover a tenant's pool which they normal probably would not do. You could also offer to sign an Indemnification and Hold Harmless Agreement in favor of your landlord for any damages or attorney's fees resulting from your swimming pool. Ultimately, however, the decision as to whether a pool will be allowed on the property is the landlord's call. If he says still says no after offering what I suggested above, then you have no further legal recourse available to you.
