Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
Type Your Question Here...The landlord has given my Mother notice that her rent increase will be 155.00 per month. This is a 24.8 increase per month. Is this legal in Florida ? She is a good tenant and pays her rent on time. The lease expires 2/28/18.

There is no statute which stops a landlord from charging whatever they want. The prior lease sometimes controls the increases which may occur. Have that lease reviewed. It is also subject to negotiation if possible.
