Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
After vacating the apartment on oct,31st, my former landlord is charging me for november's rent because we gave the keys back during the month of november. But the reason we gave the keys in november is because they scheduled the walk through in november, so we gave the keys back on the date of the walk through. can he claim for november's rent in full?

You needed to deliver possession of the property back to the landlord, which, in keeping the keys, you did not do until November. I think the LL can charge you for November's rent, but you can certainly disagree and let a judge decide.

I agree with Ms. Grosse, you should have given the keys back when you vacated the property.
Without givingthe keys back you did not surrender possession.
