Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

I do not have a vehicle or a phone at the moment. I was told by my landlord that it was not a problem for her to have someone come by my residence to collect rent, since she usually had someone out collecting. I have made multiple attempts to contact my landlord to pay my rent since the 3rd of the month. I received no response to any of my communications. On the 16th I received a notice on my door that I had 3 days to pay my rent, and 200+ dollars in late fees or get out. I don't understand how she can just ignore me and then evict me. I have proof in text messages of numerous attempts to make payment. And the original attempt would have been on time and I wouldn't owe late fees. As of today I have still received no response and I am affraid I will not have a place to live tonight. If there is any way to fight this I would be more than happy to hire an attorney etc. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.

1. Your lease agreement controls. It is your obligation to make payment and the procedure for getting it to the landlord is up to you not the landlord. The fact that the landlord followed a method in the past does not mean that they will follow it now. 2. pay the rental and any late charges properly due under your lease. 3. if you don't pay, you will be evicted. 4. you cannot fight anything without paying the money due. do that rather than hiring an attorney.
