Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Florida

I cosigned on a credit card for an ex roomate in order for him to buy a car to get back and forth to a newly acquired, good paying job in hopes to have it payed off while still in the no interest period. That didn't happen and he lost his job and isn't paying. The no interest period has expired. I have removed him from the card because he continued to use the card without my consent. I have been making all of the payments. He has paid $100 in the past year. I have the money order reciepts. I have never made a purchase on the card. Every purchase has been made by him. He has since moved to another county and now has another job. I have called several times and he makes it extremely hard to get a hold of him. When I do get a hold of him he assures me that he will send me money, that never arrives... He will not and can not deny any of the charges. Is it worth my time and money to try and get the money back? Is there anything I can do? I have seen an attorney but I didn't feel comfortable with what he had to offer.

I would pursue this. See if he can execute a note for the repayment amount.
