Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Florida
An employer has recorded conversations with employee without acknowledging or notifiying employees of such recordings. Employee addresses issue with employer, employer denies, even though others have been recorded (clients of employer) and questioned employer who then acknowledge they were being recorded. When said employee addresses the personal concern, employer "laid off " employee. What rights does the employee have? The state of FL states recordings of such need to be relayed to person being recorded and this was not done.

This is a criminal violation that should be reported to State Attorneys Office but that does not mean that the employee necessarily has a civil cause of action.
