Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Florida

In all fifty states can attorneys do the following

#1 - Can attorneys sell insurance or investments in every state if licensed? Any prohibition?

#2 - If they can sell insurance and investment products while completing other work such as wills and estates.

Re: In all fifty states can attorneys do the following

It will be difficult to find someone knowledeable about all 50 states.

Attorneys can engage in other occupations providing they do not create a conflict of interest with legal clients.

There is no reason an attorney cannot sell insurance, if licensed, if he does not misuse his position of authority to convince a client to purchase something which is not in his best iterests.

Drafting wills and probating estates would not appear to present a conflict of interest with the selling of insurance provided everything is open and above board.

Individual state bar associations could have individual prohibitions against the activities you provide. Each state must be examined on a state-by-state basis.
