Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Florida

Intimidation & Harassment during deposition

Are attorneys allowed to harass, cuss, intimidate, slam their fist on the desk to get you to answer questions during a deposition. This attorney laughs to intimudate me and disrepects me during deposition. I don't allow other people to talk to me like he does, do I have to allow this and continue to answer his questions? What are my rights? Can I walk out? Can I legally have someone in with me, like a friend or reporter during deposition?

Re: Intimidation & Harassment during deposition

You do not have to tolerate such behavior. You are free to walk out, but you should make it clear on the deposition record why you are doing so.

You may have a friend/advisor present during a deposition.

Where is your lawyer? Almost no one should give a deposition without one.
