Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Florida
legal professionalism, humiliation
i was recently in court because my boyfriend was behind on support to his daughter. he was completely compared with his unemployment papers and comfirmed lob searches and interviews at a career center. during court the state lawyer repeatedly belittled him, mocking every answer he gave, he threatened to throw him in jail, and did not even want to see that he was trying hard to get a job. then i was brought into the conversation when he told the lawyer that i was taking careof him, and he laughed and asked if he was thron in jail right now if ''his girlfriend '' would be able to bail him out. i was so embarrassed, everyone in the room was lookig at me, and i wasnt even a part of the case. in the end there wasnt enough to arrest him, but i walked out in tears. this is all over 600 dollars, and he pays every chance he gets. i feel like what that lawyer did to me and him was morally wrong, is there anything i can do about it? i know he is a state defendor, but he has no right to say the things he said, and he did that to everyone in that courtroom that day.

No.
He is protecting your child.
If you don't want the money, you can give it back -- but that would be foolish.
