Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Florida
I live with my parents in Pensacola, Florida since I was no longer to care for myself since this incident occurred. I had two tumors which my doctor said it were cysts, one the size of a basketball on one ovary one the size of a golf ball on the other ovary. I was given a procedure on June 9, 2010 call a "leep" which was not pertaining to the tumors. After the procedure I began having high temperatures ranging from 103 to 107, this continued for about 3 weeks. My mother flew in to North Carolina to be with me for the leep procedure and she flew back to Pensacola, Florida on June 21, 2012. The entire time my mother was here in Charlotte my temperature continue to be high. I was taken to the emergency room on several occasions, without seeing my doctor that performed the leep procedure on me did not even as much as come to the hospital to check to see if the "leep" procedure or whatever it was causing me to run such high temperatures. I was in so much pain I could not eat for weeks. On July 4, 2010, I passed out an some friends came over, called EMS and rushed me to the emergency room where more and more tests were performed. The staff there decided to admit me which is the 3rd hospital stay since having the "leep procedure. One and a half day after being admitted in the hospital one of the tumors ruptured and emergency surgery were performed. The Physician said that if he had not operated on me, I would have been dead within an hour. I was in CCU for about 3 days and a total of about 12 days in the hospital before being discharged, on lots of medication for extreme pain. I feel that my doctor was negligence in her professional duties toward me as her patient. What legal actions can I take in this matter?
