Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Florida

responsibilities of adoption agencies

I rented an apartment to a mother to be, and she was going through an adoption agency who paid all of her bills. She was cooking meth in my apartment, and we called the police who removed materials and paraphanalia and arrested her on an outstanding warrant. Wasn't it the responsibility of the adoption agency to investigate her for the protection of us and the prospective parents? The agency refuses to pay any of the damages, and obviously she has nothing that we can sue her for. Thank you

If the agency was on the lease, then you can go after them. Otherwise, it would be difficult. I'd have to do research on this...haven't dealt with it before.
