Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Florida

responsibility?

OK, heres the story:

I am physically disabled BUT not mentally. I am currently staying with a good friend in FL. My soon to be X-wife has said ''if anything happens to, she will sue them for neglect. My question is: how can I absolve my friend from any legal concerns, I am/want to be responsible for myself; if I fall or die and they are gone can ANYONE claim neglect? I am staying here on my own volition.

Re: responsibility?

Your friend would only be responsible for a negligently created condition or a condition that was dangerous that they jnew or should have known about.

You could sign a release now for stayiong in their house. That might solve any potential problem, but it does not sound like much of a risk as you describe it.
