Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Florida

My attorney is holding the garnishment on a trustee account my ex husband is paying for support and my attorneys fee ( as for the divorce decreed) saying he has to get paid first . Our contract only says I am responsible for the fees. As a support money, is this legal? Please advise
