Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

Ballpark answer on settlement amount and time to settlement?

I had a full hip replacement May 29,1998. It went bad in surgery and I wound up with a inch and a half long leg, with Drop foot. I've enlisted a very good Lawyer and the case is in motion. The problem is, he won't divulge a close settlement date so we might borrow monies to live on. Ethically he can't, I know, but shouldn't lawers be free to help their clients "make it" till things are wrapped up ?

I'm 65 yrs. old, unable to work, with disabled wife. We've used our savings and are about to lien our home for monies to live. My Attorney and I know quite well we will win a substanual settlement. The question is roughly, when and how much? You're allowed to lie a little "lawguru", make me feel better. Thanks;

You hired an attorney and am paying him a substantial amount. Trust him. There is no way to speculate how long a case will take or hopw much a jury will award. Be Patient.
