Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida
doctor has no malpractice insurance
i am trying to get a law suit going concerning my fathers death. he was only 55. i have had an independent autopsey done and am ready to procede. lawyers i am calling say they cannot take the case due to this doctor having to other active lawsuits against this dr and because of his lack of insurance there wont be enough money to go around. have you ever heard of such a thing? are there any attorneys practicing in florida and ny interested?

The biggest problem is not the lack of insurance. If your father was not married and had no children under 25 years of age, then the Republicans who make the laws down here in Florida have protected the doctor from suit. That's right, if a doctor negligently kills someone without a spouse or child under 25 then he or she cannot be sued.
Take a guess as to whether the doctors' lobiests gave more money to the Republicans or whether injured patients did.
