Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

dr didnt bother...

I was seen by my doc on june 6, 2002. we discussed problem and did some blood work, ekg, etc. i was at the time having some anxiety, fast heart rate.. 2 weeks later the office called and said my test were normal.

Aug 6, 2002, i went to the same office for having major tremors, anxiety, fast heart rate 120bpm, feeling like i was going crazy. after looking in my chart the doctor said that wasn't i contacted about my blood work? yes, i said, u told me everything was fine. It turned out my tsh levels for thyroid were .0001. normal is .40. They apologized that they made this mistake. re did the blood work, came out even worst. my prob is that they neglicted to notify me of these results. i suffered horrible symptoms for nearly 2 months that werent even close at the time i was first seen and should have been diagnosed much earlier!!! now i have to have surgery to fix this hyperthyroidism. is my doc legaly responsible for compensating me???

Re: dr didnt bother...

If the 2 month delay is the cause for the surgery and you have a doctor to so state in writing you may be able to make a claim. How you will recover is also important.
