Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida
We have had a Greatgrandson who was a namesake that died by the hands of a dentist in Florida due to malpractice because she gave our greatgrandson an overdose of an antithetic. Our grandson has filed a lawsuit and has settled with the Malpractice Insurance Company in the thousands of dollars. My wife and I are terribly depressed and on depression medicine. we loved this guy and want this Dentist punished to the max for our loss. Please inform us if there is any recourse for us. Thank You.

First, I am truly sorry for the loss of your Great-grandson, I am sure that no words can truly console you.
Unfortunately for you personally, the right to sue on behalf of the child typically rests in the hands of the parents, and loss of consortium claims are extremely limited. Despite the loss that a grandparent (or in this case Great-grandparent) experiences, they typically do not have a legal claim to any loss or damages without some extraordinary set of circumstances.
I, too, am sorry for your loss. You do not have a civil claim yourself unless you provided support to your great-grandson. You can, however, file a claim with the state regulatory system of dentist to have him or her investigated. See my website for the form. www.FL-PI-Lawyer.com
