Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida
Medical Negligence
My mother-in-law was in the hospital being treated for dementia. At 4:30 monday they noticed her missing. They did not notify us until 6:30. It took 5 hours to locate her. The hospital had no clue what she was wearing and gave wrong information to the police. They knew she was a risk to wander off so they had her on a monitor and had a sign on the door letting her know where she was. I had to call the news media to turn up the heat in trying to locate her. Is there anything we can do? Can we sue them?
