Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

Misdiagnosis Resulting in Inflated Medical Charges

I went into the hospital with lower abdominal pain, after 3 visits to the ER and 2 ct scans, the doctors decided to do an exploratory surgery to determine what the problem was. During the surgery they realized that my appendix had ruptured during my 2nd ER visit. During the first ER visit, the radiologist could not see my appendix because the dye for the CT Scan had not run down far enough so they could see my appendix. As a result of this I ended up being in the hospital for 5 days and out of work for 6 weeks. I'm also being billed for approx $25000 in out of pocket expenses after what my insurance paid. My question is: Do I have any recourse as far as getting the medical bill at least reduced or eliminated, since the inflated amount is a result of the initial CT scan not being done or read properly?
