Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida
Nerve Damage
I had surgery 3 wks ago. While in pre-op the nurse hit a nerve in my wrist while trying to insert a IV. It caused extreme pain and numbness at the time, along with some swelling. I still have swelling , numbness and pain.I have talk to my surgeon about it and all he tells me is it should go away in 1 or 2 weeks. Well it has now been 3 weeks with no improvment,it has only gotten worse. Is there any thing I can do about this? I do not feel I should have to sever from this or put out any money for medical bills toward it. I did not have this problem when I entered the hospital that day. Thank you for your time.

Re: Nerve Damage
RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) is a known consequence of a bad needle stick. You should research this. You should also contact a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney who specializes in this type of case to talk to. It cost nothing for a consult. Hopefully you will get better and no consult will be neccessary.
