Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

Not Notified of blood test results

About 8 weeks ago I went to a new doctor with symptoms, he did routine blood tests I found out I have hepatitis c in stage 1B.and am being treated, I don't know if they can cure me. But a year ago I had a different doctor who I told I was not feeling good he did blood work and never notified me of any findings, I reguested that blook work and there are 3 levels that would have pinpointed to hepatitis c. If I was treated a year ago I might have had a better chance. Is it the doctor's reponsiblity to look at all tests and to notify the patient? The doctor I go to now looked at the tests results and flagged it and called me in right away. Why did the other doctor not do that. Was he suppose to be notified of all tests results?

Re: Not Notified of blood test results

Certainly it seems that your first doctor should have notified you of the results. While your chances of a successful malpractice case depend on many factors, you should see an attorney that does medical malpractice cases.
