Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida
Two weeks ago i went to a doctor for an emergency visit. The front desk staff walked into the patient room without knocking to yell about wifi connection problems, the nurse practioner sat outside my exam room and talked bad about me with the front desk staff, and then she didnt even properly do my exam. I had to fight to get the ultrasound and the doctor decided that she was going to go home before she was to read my exam results. I ended up on the emergency room that night for multiple reasons that could hqve been addressed while i as in the office. I am currently still having the same issues and need to see anothetr doctor. For the past 2 weeks my doctor has refused to release my medical records to me so that i can get a second opinion, until I have a medical procedure done at his office. I am uncomfortable with the procedure he wants to do. Now after 2 weeks of fighting with the office, they now tell me they don't even have any my records. What can I do?

Make a written request for your records and provide a hipaa compliant release. Send that request certified if there is any issue about whether they are going to provide them. There is no malpractice claim.
