Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

Hello. My wife and I were recently blessed with our first child through IVF. we spent the first two months of life in the hospital due to a medical condition and she was also born premature. We found out two weeks after we got home from the hospital that the IVF clinic accidently used someone else's sperm to impregnate my wife's eggs. They acknowledged. So we have contacted a lawyer in California that defended a similar case. They did decide to defend us. After and some contact with the IVF doctor's attorney, it appears our IVF doctor is practicing without any insurance. So, our attorneys thought it would be best if we went public and have a press conference and get our story out there. My wife and I are private people and decided we would like to remain anonymous. Long story short our attorneys decided it would be best not to defend us. I'm guessing since our IVF doctor is said not to have any insurance and we wouldn't have a press conference. I would just like any help for our next steps. We don't care for a huge payout. We would just like it made right. And also, would it be appropriate and legal to actual contact the IVF doctor himself and try to work something out? Thank you

This is not a question that can be answered in this forum. You need to discuss with an appropriate medical malpractice attorney. You mention California attorney, are you in California or Florida? Many medical practitioners dont have insurance coverage. They are self insured for a base level, which I believe is $250K. Seek actual legal help.
