i am going to be adseped from the navy next week after 16years of service. will i get any severance pay?

It depends on the reason for the separation and what kind of discharge you receive. Because of your time in service, you have the right to request an administrative discharge board where you could fight the proposed separation or the nature of the discharge. You can be represented by counsel at this hearing and can call witnesses or present evidence concerning your separation or retention or the type of discharge to be awarded. You should do this to ensure that you keep all your rights and benefits which you have earned or may be entitled to.
