Re: UA from Marines
If you've been gone for a while, they send you to MCB Quantico, VA, to be charged with unauthorized absence or desertion and perhaps missing movement, if your unit deployed after you left. They prosecute you at a special court-martial where the maximum punishment is confinement for one year, forfeiture of 2/3 of your base pay, per month, for one year, reduction in rank to Private, and discharge from the service with a Bad Conduct Discharge.
